SEND
Special Educational Needs and Disability

We aim to ensure that St Joseph's Pre-school works to meet the needs of every child as an individual and recognise that some children may have special educational needs and disabilities requiring tailored and specific support.

We implement the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice (2014) and work closely with families and children who wish to join our pre-school to minimise barriers and provide full participation through an inclusive learning environment where all children are valued and supported to achieve their individual best.

Please refer to our Local SEND Offer and SEND policy to find out more about what we provide for children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Fees

As a 'not-for-profit' Pre-school we try to keep the fees we charge as low as possible.

All 3-4 year olds are entitled to 15 funded/free hours of nursery education a week (Term time) with a maximum of 6 free hours being claimed in one day.

Some 2 year olds are also eligible for a free place subject to meeting certain criteria. (Go to www.bristol.gov.uk for further details or click HERE)

Additional hours/sessions will be charged at the rates on our current Fees Schedule. Invoices are calculated on a termly bases and should be paid by the fourth week of each term.

Ofsted

Our last inspection was in July 2024 where we were rated as GOOD, but this was at our old location and we have not yet had an inspection at our new venue. We feel that our Ofsted Report in July 2024 still reflects well what we try to achieve here at St Joseph's Pre-school. In this, Ofsted highlighted that:

"The curriculum is well planned to meet children's needs. Staff are ambitious for all children to achieve, including those who speak English as an additional language. They use their secure knowledge of the children to provide an environment that inspires and engages them, which helps all children to progress well in their learning."
